Talk About Grief & Loss

Talk about grief

Talk about grief is a blog for anyone who is grieving or moving through loss and bereavement. Grief and loss is a personal journey.

And unlike many things in life there is no handbook to give us the answers.

With this said this website provides a place to visit. We provide resources to help you take care of your health.

And we share tips to help someone you love as they move through grief.

We talk about self care, such as sleep, supplements and how to improve your physical and emotional in wellness as you navigate loss.

And no matter what anyone tells you there is no right or wrong… there just is. Each and everyone one of us will have unique experiences to grief.

There is no rule book or guide for grieving, there are no two circumstances that are the same nor responses that is the same. Our response to grief and loss is as unique as we are.

Loss

Loss comes in many forms, it maybe the loss of a loved one, a job, a marriage, it can be the end of anything disrupts our life.  Anything that causes loss can result in a grief response. Loss can show up in many forms, we may feel pain, hurt, anger, frustration… and not to be dismissed, loss is very real.

Grief

What is grief? Grief is a complex response that is referred to as loss,  while we may grieve for things that come to an end, the strongest of grief is usually after the loss of a loved one. Whether it is the loss of a child, parent, pet, friend… there are many reasons we grieve.

Bereavement

Bereavement is a period of mourning after loss, or after the death of a loved one. This may be a state of intense grief, a time of physical, emotional pain and isolation. And there is no set time for the bereaved, this time can range from a few days to, weeks, even years.

Talk About Grief

Talk about grief was started in 2006 after the loss of my son. I created it as a place to get information, share your experience and find resources. My aim is to provide you with the names of some books, courses and tools. All in hope in hopes that it may help a little as you move through grief, loss and time of bereavement.

About the Author

Hello! My name is Andrea. Writing a blog about grief and loss it is the last things I ever imagine. I has a full, happy life with big dreams for the future. But life had other plans with the sudden and traumatic death of my son, Neil.

I lost grandparents, many beloved pets, and grieved the loss of family and friends… but nothing prepared you for death, especially when it is a precious child or close family member.

When a loved one dies it is not only earth shattering in so many ways, but it changes the entire path of life.

With the lack of resources for those who are grieving I chose to write articles, tips and ways to discuss  grief and how to move through it.

In this blog we cover health, marriage, friendships in an effort to help you  through this difficult time. or so you can help someone who is grieving.

“Not only did I lose one of the most people in my life…my son… but I lost life as I knew it… nothing would ever be the same”

Talk About Grief

After loss, we grieve, we are bereaved, and all we can do is to move through the pain, on our own terms. Day by day, and one step at a time and in our own way. And since grief does not come with a handbook talk about grief is created in an effort to help.

If it can help in any tiny way… the creation of this blog will be worth while.

Love,

Andrea
